Hyderabad: Minister for Medical, Health and Family Welfare C. Damodar Raja Narasimha has assured that a high-level meeting will be held soon to ensure the effective implementation of the health scheme for journalists and their families in Telangana State.

On Wednesday, a delegation from the media, headed by K Virahat Ali, the State president of the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), met Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha in his Assembly office to discuss the rollout of the Journalists' Health scheme. The journalists presented a petition to the Minister addressing this issue.

During the meeting, Virahat Ali highlighted the challenges journalists have encountered due to the lack of implementation of the health scheme over the past five years. He expressed his concern that rising medical costs have become a significant burden for journalists, who are already struggling financially. Virahat Ali said there is a situation where journalists are having to borrow money to get medical treatment.

Responding to this, Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said that journalists need not worry and assured that special efforts would be made to resolve this issue soon.

The TUWJ delegation that met the Minister included Union State Deputy General Secretary Kalkuri Ramulu, State Secretary Varakala Yadagiri, IJU National Council member Rajinikanth, and several senior journalists.
